Equipment to bring when you move

Young mixed race couple sets up internet service on their laptop while surrounded by moving boxes

Moving and not sure what to bring with you? We’ve got a rundown of what equipment you’ll need to bring with you in your new place to move or transfer your Astound Broadband service.

Astound equipment return checklist

Before you move or transfer your internet service, you’ll need to be sure you have all the equipment Astound provided you for internet, tv and phone along with associated cords and remotes.

Your exact equipment list will vary depending on what services you receive, but in general, this is the equipment you may have on hand when moving:

    • Converter Box
    • Converter Box Remote
    • Modem
    • Router
    • Power cords

While you won’t have all these devices on hand, you will likely have a mix of these items on the Astound equipment list:

    • Converter Boxes – including 2 Tuner, 4 Tuner and 6 Tuner DVR Powered by TiVo, Every Room Powered by TiVo, TiVo Preview, HD/DVR Converter Box, HD Converter Box, and Digital Converter Box
    • Cable Cards
    • Cable Modems – including Modem, WiFi Router, 1 Gig Modem, and Enhanced Whole Home Wifi

An Astound Customer Service Agent can provide additional details by looking at your account at what you have.

    • All electrical cords and accessories

What equipment do I need to return to Astound if I am moving?

If you are returning your equipment because you are no longer in Astound’s service area, you’re likely wondering where do I return my Astound box? You can return your equipment in person.

Equipment must be returned to the appropriate local office. You can also return your equipment via FedEx using a pre-paid label. Find out how to return your equipment.

In addition, a service technician will pick up your equipment for a fee.

If you are moving to another service area, you must return your equipment to the service area that provided the equipment. You shouldn’t take your equipment with you because your new location might have different equipment.

Installation and activation

All transfers must be scheduled with a technician, you cannot use a self-installation kit. Selfcare information and paperless billing does not transfer; the new account must be registered, then set up for paperless bills.
