Is 5G the same as 5 Gig internet?
No, 5 Gig is an internet connection with wired upload and download speed of 5 Gigabits per second. 5G is the 5th generation network that cell phone companies use. This is not related to the speed you will receive. According to Speedtest.net 5G had a download speed of 215 Mbps and an upload speed around 24 Mbps.
Can I use my own modem or router for 5 Gig with Astound internet?
To ensure that you will receive 5 Gig, an OTN (Optical Terminal Network) device is necessary. Because of this, you will need to use our modem. (Look at pon or xpon on our site). You will be able to use your own router. r own router

What is WiFi 7 technology?

Can I get WiFi 7 devices if I do not have 5 Gig internet speed?
Astound’s WiFi 7 devices are only available with 5 Gig internet speed.
Does eero Max 7 work with previous generations of eero?
Yes—however, combining eero Max 7 devices with older generation eero devices is not recommended. For optimal performance, we recommend using same-generation eero devices across your network. In addition, you will also need to use a WiFi 7-compatible connected device, supporting 320 MHz, to enjoy the full benefits of the eero Max 7. It is important to note that in every network, you will designate one eero as a gateway by connecting it to your modem using one of the Ethernet ports on the back. Once your gateway eero is installed, you may use any combination of wired and/or wireless eero devices to set up the rest of your network, as desired.
