What is Astound TV+?
Astound TV+ is our TV app that lets you turn your phone/tablet/devices into a TV. Enjoy streaming of live TV, On Demand and cloud DVR recordings (via My Shows folder) on your personal device as part of your subscription to our TV & Internet service.
What do I need to have before I can download the app on my device?
- Subscription to our TV (basic tier and up) and our Internet. Internet speed tiers of 100Mbps and higher are eligible.
- At least one of our TiVo Android set-top boxes in your home.
- A compatible personal device (see our list)
What if I don’t have any box? Can I still download the app?
Customer can download the app to a device that is on our supported list, however, without a subscription to Astound TV and at least one TiVo Android set-top box, you will not be able to log in.
What devices can download the app?
- Android smartphone/tablet running 7.1 and up; Android 6 or earlier not supported.
- Apple smartphone/tablet running iOS 13.0 or later; AirPlay not supported.
- Customer owned devices and select Android TV, Apple TV, Fire TV devices (see our list).
- Searching for the app on an unsupported device will not return any results; unsupported devices will not be able to find or download the app from the stores.
- As additional devices are made available, we will let you know.

What can I do with the Astound TV+ app?
⦁ Turn your personal device into a TV with the Astound TV+ app. Watch top networks, live sports and news, On Demand and more.
⦁ DVR Recordings* & On Demand – Watch, schedule or manage recordings from your device. Record as many shows as you want at the same time with 125 hours of storage included. DVR recordings cannot be downloaded, but you can watch your recordings out of the home as well as FREE On Demand.
⦁ Start Over & Catch Up*— Start a live show from the beginning, even if it’s already started to air. Go back in time & start a show that aired up to 3 days ago. Watch a program that’s aired in the last 72 hours (availability varies by network).
⦁ Simple Search— Search across live TV, On Demand, streaming apps like Netflix, and your recorded shows so you can find exactly what you want to watch, when you want to watch it.
*The ability to “start over” or “catch up” may vary by network, is dictated by the content provider and is subject to change at any time without notice. Fast forwarding may be disabled on some shows and is controlled by the content provider. Consider setting a OnePass (if available) to record a series to allow for fast forwarding in the future. Access to cloud DVR only available for residential customers. Basic Cloud DVR tier (125 hours) is included with select TV equipment at no extra cost and recordings will be saved for up to 90 days or until space is needed. Most recent recordings will replace older recordings after the 125 hours limit is reached. Other restrictions may apply.
How many devices can I use at once?
You can stream up to five devices at the same time, with a total of 12 devices registered on the account.
Is voice control a feature?
Voice control feature is only available through the set-top box; it is not available through the Astound TV+ app.
Can I get the app if I have a legacy TiVo set-top box or other model?
Not at this time. If you have a TiVo 2/4/6 tuner DVR model, TiVo Mini, TiVo Stream 4K device, Motorola or other legacy set-top boxes from us, the app is not available; however, we are working to make it available with these models and will announce when it’s ready.
What if I have a legacy TiVo box, but my device can download the app. Can I get it on my device?
Not at this time. To access the app, you must have at least one of our TiVo Android set-top boxes in your home. However, we are working to make it available with other set-top box models and announce when it’s ready.
I have a legacy TiVo box and was able to download the app on another device, but cannot login.
If you have a TiVo 2/4/6 tuner DVR model, TiVo Mini, TiVo Stream 4K device, Motorola or other legacy set-top boxes from us, the app is not compatible and cannot be used; you will see an error message.
Can I upgrade/exchange the TiVo equipment in my home so that I can get the app?
You may reach out to us and we can help review your existing services/equipment, conduct a whole home assessment and provide you with options.
What channel lineup do I get on the app?
Your channel lineup will depend on the level of TV service you subscribe to. If you subscribe to our Basic TV tier (for example), you will receive the Basic TV channel lineup. If you subscribe to other TV tiers, you’ll receive those channels.
Can I get On Demand and PPV on the app?
⦁ Free On Demand is available on the app both in the home and out of the home;
⦁ Transactional On Demand movies cannot be purchased via the app, but you can purchase it through your set-top box, start it and resume it on the app. If you purchased On Demand in the home you CAN resume it from your “my rentals” folder while out of the home.
⦁ Subscription On Demand services such as Dog TV, Music Choice Karaoke will work on the app.
⦁ PPV is not available; however, you can access PPV events, sports and other matches via other apps such as ESPN+, DAZN, WWE Network, Fite.TV, Showtime, and B/R Live.
How do I login to the app once I’ve downloaded it?
Can I watch the same show on my TV and on my device at the same time?
Yes, you can watch on up to 5 devices at the same time.
Can I watch one show on my TV and watch a different show on another device?
Yes, you can watch on up to 5 devices at the same time.
If I search for a show/movie, and it says it’s available on Netflix, Hulu, HBOMax, Amazon, Disney+ or some other streaming service, can I watch it from your app?
Yes, but only if you have a subscription to that streaming service. Separate streaming membership is required for these services (and sold separately).
Can I start a show over if I have not recorded it through the app?
Yes. Start a live show from the beginning, even if it’s already started to air. Go back in time & start a show that aired up to 3 days ago. Watch a program that’s aired in the last 72 hours* (availability varies by network).

Can I download the app directly to my Fire TV stick, smart TV, other devices?
Yes, on certain supported devices (see our list). The app is compatible on customer owned devices such as Fire TV devices, certain brands of Smart TVs and more. You CANNOT download the app to your device (i.e. Fire TV stick, for example) and take it to a friend or family member’s home and plug it in (prohibited). You must be on your home network.
Can I cast a show from the app to my TV?
Casting from device to TV is not available.
Does Astound TV+ work on TiVo Stream 4K device?
Not at this time, no.
What about RCN2GO and Grande2GO apps?
These apps are still available and will remain as they are for now.
Does the app work on student campus or other small business-type accounts?
⦁ If the campus has Astound Broadband services via a direct agreement with us, students can stream live TV on-campus. They must be connected to their on-campus Astound Broadband network to watch via the app.
⦁ Transactional On Demand, Pay Per View events & Adult content are not available.
⦁ Small business accounts can access the app; however, some features may be limited.
The ability stream content out-of-home may be limited and is dictated by the content provider. TV programs cannot be streamed outside of the United States.
*Astound TV+ app requires subscription to Astound TV service, at least one Android set-top box rental from Astound, internet connection and compatible device. Some features and functions may not be available out of the home. TV programs cannot be streamed outside of the United States. Other restrictions apply.
