What is Astound Fixed Wireless Internet?
Astound Fixed Wireless Internet delivers high-speed internet & WiFi connectivity without traditional cable or fiber lines. It uses a small outdoor antenna that is affixed to the outside of the home and connects to nearby towers to bring internet connectivity to your home.
How does Astound’s next generation fixed wireless work?
We connect our network to a signal tower. Antennas on the signal tower wirelessly send our internet signal to your home. We’ll work together to find the ideal spot outside your home to install the antenna for the strongest wireless signal. The signal connects to the in-home eero Wi-Fi equipment and powers your in-home devices.
What equipment will I need?
We provide a small outdoor antenna that goes on the outside of your home and eero WiFi which includes wall-to-wall coverage, advanced security features included and more. Professional installation ensures optimal performance.
What does the set-up involve?
We provide everything you need for a strong, secure connection. Your set-up will include:
- Outdoor antenna: We call it a remote node. It’s a device that captures the signal for your home.
- Power adapter: Keeps the outdoor antenna running smoothly.
- Smart WiFi system (eero): Delivers fast, wall-to-wall coverage with built-in security features.

Can I self-install or do I need professional information?
Professional installation ensures optimal performance. We have convenient appointment windows to get you set-up in no time. Self-installation is not available at this time.
What happens during installation?
A technician will mount the antenna, connect it, and test your speeds. Installation usually takes 1–2 hours. Self-installation is not available.
How fast is the service?
Plans typically offer speeds from 150 Mbps up to 1 Gbps, depending on your location.
Do I need a clear line of sight to the tower?
No. Our advanced technology works even in non-line-of-sight conditions, so trees and buildings usually aren’t a problem.
Is this the same as satellite internet?
No. Fixed wireless uses ground-based towers, not satellites, so latency is much lower and performance is more consistent.
Are there data caps or contracts?
No. Most plans include generous data allowances and Astound does not have data caps for it’s fixed wireless internet service. No contracts required.
Is the service reliable in bad weather?
Yes. Our technology is designed to maintain strong connections even in rain or snow.
Can I stream, game, and work from home?
Absolutely. Speeds and latency are optimized for streaming HD/4K video, online gaming, and video conferencing.
