The local district baseball and softball playoffs just (tried) to get underway this week, but so far Mother Nature is putting a damper on things.
As of blog press time, there are still teams in our area that have not been able to complete the first round of the district playoffs, meanwhile, other team semi-final games are also scheduled to be played later Friday.
Meanwhile, when you look ahead to the forecast and see a greater than 50% chance of rain for this Saturday, Sunday and Monday, next week’s district championship plans are very much up in the air for both of these two sports.
As of now, the Astound TV Network is planning to broadcast live coverage of the District 11 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A baseball championships and the district 5A and 6A softball title games as well.
Obviously, if games are moved, this will affect our broadcast schedule. Another factor this time of year which limits television coverage are the sites that are selected for playoff games — a decision which is made beyond our control.
Keep checking back to the ATVN website and we will try to keep you posted on all of our local teams playoff games and will also let you know which of our broadcast will be airing and when.
In the meantime, I hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend… and don’t forget to say ” hi ” when you see me out at semifinal baseball and softball games all weekend!
