BML Playoff ’26 Update
Once again this summer, the Astound Television Network will be broadcast the deciding game(s) of this year’s Blue Mountain League baseball championship series. Even before we get to the final round, it’s been an interesting postseason thus far!
First, the Hellertown Royals under the direction of long-time manager Bob Zerfass had to make a furious run during the last week of the regular season just to qualify for the playoffs. “Coach Zerf” is in his 50th, and final, season as the team’s head coach, and the players have responded by trying to make sure this season runs as long as possible.
Winning its last three regular season games and then beating Easton in a tiebreaker, the Royals won jumped out a 1-0 series lead in their quarterfinal round.

However, the Avengers had been trailing in the opposite direction. The team fell from first to third place during the last two weeks of the regular season and thereby cost themselves a first round bye. They did bounce back to win the next two games and advance into the semifinal round. They’ll face the top-seeded Orioles.
In the other playoff series, the Bulls defeated the Creekers two games to none and advance to play the Northern Yankees in their semifinal matchup.
