Before we look at more pictures from around the area at local basketball league and tournament action, a quick recap of last week\u2019s \u201cBash at the Beach\u201d (aka, held indoors at nice, climate-controlled gymnasiums\u2026thank you, Whitehall-Coplay School District!)<\/span><\/p>\n

The winners for the second straight year were the Parkland Trojans.\u00a0 In addition to winning the district title and going further than any other boys team this past winter, they have a ton of people back for this year and show no signs of slowing down.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ironically both Parkland and fellow defending district champion Central Catholic both lost the day before and found themselves in the \u2018losers bracket\u2019 for Sunday\u2019s events.<\/span><\/p>\n

Emmaus, under the direction of a brand new head coach, made a great showing, advancing into the winners bracket Saturday night by beating both the Trojans and the Vikings.\u00a0 The Hornets then lost to Wilson WL, who lost to Parkland in Sunday night\u2019s finale.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the small school classification, both Salisbury and Southern Lehi had great weekends, with the Falcons beating the Spartans in the final game in overtime. Veteran Steven Lozada had the game-winning bucket.\u00a0 Both teams have a ton of talent returning from last year and, as you saw on ATVN<\/em> last winter, that game was also a close affair that went right down to the wire.<\/span><\/p>\n
