We\u2019ve advanced to the second round of the high school football playoffs and, for Class 3A & 5A teams, we\u2019ll see champions be crowned for the District XI<\/a> playoffs.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cPlayoff week two\u201d also means that our weekly football polls will be coming to an end.\u00a0 So as we head into the 12th week of the football season overall, here\u2019s a look at where our pigskin experts (a mix of local coaches, administrators and RCN and other media members) stack up the teams in our coverage area:<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/i>Our poll remains with the standard format that we have utilized for many seasons.\u00a0 For the largest school districts within the District XI\/RCN-TV footprint, they qualify as the \u201cbig schools\u201d in our pigskin poll. These schools consist of:\u00a0 Parkland<\/a>,\u00a0Liberty<\/a>,\u00a0Allen<\/a>, Easton, Emmaus, Liberty,\u00a0Dieruff<\/a>, Freedom,\u00a0Stroudsburg<\/a>,\u00a0Pleasant Valley<\/a>,\u00a0Northampton<\/a>, Nazareth,\u00a0Whitehall<\/a>,\u00a0Southern Lehigh<\/a>,\u00a0East Stroudsburg-South<\/a>, and\u00a0Pocono Mountain East & West<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>
\n<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong>\u201cSmall schools\u201d for our poll consist of schools from\u00a0Bangor<\/a>,\u00a0Saucon Valley<\/a>, Central Catholic, Bethlehem Catholic, Northwestern,\u00a0Wilson<\/a>,\u00a0Palisades<\/a>,\u00a0Palmerton<\/a>,\u00a0Salisbury<\/a>, Notre Dame,\u00a0Pen Argyl<\/a>,\u00a0Northern Lehigh<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Catasauqua<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong>Here are the \u201crules\u201d for our voters:<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

Each pollster identifies their top five teams among the \u201cbig schools\u201d and the top four squads for the \u201csmaller\u201d group\u2014the top school gets five (or four for the small schools) points, the second team gets four (or three) points and so on, with an average score determining the order of teams in both of the polls.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n
