Last week, we started to get you ready for the start of high school football with some \u201cstorylines to watch\u201d for the 2019 campaign.<\/p>\n

This week, we have our pre-season high school football poll (as voted by select media members, coaches & administrators within the RCN-TV viewing area) and the return of the \u201cPick 4\u201d predictions for games that will be played this weekend in the season\u2019s opening weekend of contests.<\/p>\n

Now the unveiling of our preseason high school football poll for District XI<\/a> teams\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cBig\u201d Schools Poll<\/strong><\/p>\n

1)\u00a0 Freedom<\/a><\/p>\n

2)\u00a0 Parkland<\/a><\/p>\n

3)\u00a0 Easton<\/a><\/p>\n

4)\u00a0 Nazareth<\/a><\/p>\n

5)\u00a0 Emmaus<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cSmall\u201d Schools Poll<\/strong><\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0 Bethlehem Catholic<\/a><\/p>\n

2)\u00a0 Northwestern<\/a><\/p>\n

3)\u00a0 Central Catholic<\/a><\/p>\n

4)\u00a0 Notre Dame<\/a><\/p>\n

Our poll remains with the standard, tried-and-true format that we have utilized for many seasons.\u00a0 We will take the 400-male enrollment number as the cutoff for schools within the District XI\/RCN-TV footprint.\u00a0 All of the schools above that number qualify as \u201cbig schools\u201d in our poll. These schools consist of Parkland, Liberty<\/a>, Allen<\/a>, Easton, Emmaus, Dieruff<\/a>, Freedom, Stroudsburg<\/a>, Pleasant Valley<\/a>, Northampton<\/a>, Nazareth, Whitehall<\/a>, Southern Lehigh<\/a>, East Stroudsburg-South<\/a>, and Pocono Mountain East & West<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cSmall schools\u201d (below 400-male enrollment) consist of Bangor<\/a>, Saucon Valley<\/a>, Central Catholic, Bethlehem Catholic, Northwestern, Wilson<\/a>, Palisades<\/a>, Palmerton<\/a>, Salisbury<\/a>, Notre Dame, Pen Argyl<\/a>, Northern Lehigh<\/a> and Catasauqua<\/a>.\u00a0 Each pollster will identify their top five teams among the \u201cbig schools\u201d and the top four squads for the \u201csmaller\u201d group\u2014the top school gets five (or four for the small schools) points, the second team gets four points and so on, with an average score determining the order of teams in the poll.<\/p>\n
