allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a great story involving sports fans in both the RCN DC and Pennsylvania viewing areas.<\/p>\n<p>A new beginning got underway at <a title=\"Lafayette College\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lafayette.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lafayette College <\/a>as standout DMV player and coach Caitlyn de la Haba is completing her first year as the school\u2019s head softball coach.<a href=\"\/atvn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Team_7.jpg\">\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/atvn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Team_7.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-81049\" src=\"\/atvn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Team_7-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Team_7\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"\/atvn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Team_7-300x200.jpg 300w, \/atvn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/Team_7.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As a player, de la Haba posted some ultra-impressive numbers in both high school in <a title=\"University of Virginia\" href=\"http:\/\/www.virginia.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Virginia<\/a> and at <a title=\"Villanova University\" href=\"http:\/\/www.villanovau.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Villanova University<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>HS team compiled an overall record of 82-1 (she was a four-year starter, three as a pitcher)<\/li>\n<li>Team Ranked #1 in the country by <a title=\"USA Today\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USA Today<\/a><\/li>\n<li>As a pitcher, registered 65 shutouts, 26 no-hitters and 13 perfect games<\/li>\n<li>Earned Back-to-back Gatorade Player of the Year honors<\/li>\n<li>Led Villanova in appearances during all four years, winning 55 games<\/li>\n<li>Finished on the Wildcats\u2019 all-time leader with 75 complete games and 3<sup>rd<\/sup> with 660 strikeouts<strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"\/atvn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/de-la-haba.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-81055\" src=\"\/atvn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/de-la-haba-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"de la haba\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>\nWe had the opportunity for \u201cRCN SportsTalk\u201d recently to talk with Coach de la Haba and three of her key players.<\/p>\n<p>Two of the senior leaders include Sam Sweigart and Miranda 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Samantha has been a constant for the team as the starting second baseman for the last three seasons.<\/p>\n<p>Miranda has also been a key member of the team handling both generation\u201d of players and have been part of a solid defensive infield.
