As I try to point out on a regular basis, there are some tremendous sports accomplishments that don\u2019t get as much notoriety as the more \u201cpopular\u201d sports (given attendance figures), such as football, basketball and wrestling.<\/p>\n

Last month, I put a call out here at the \u201cSportsTalk Shop\u201d for local athletic directors, coaches and school administrators to pass along special accomplishments for us to highlight and let other people know about. Since that time, I\u2019ve gotten a steady stream of lists, accomplishments, honors and highlights of local athletes from local athletic directors looking to get the word out about these special student-athletes.<\/p>\n

Below are more listings of top performers in the RCN coverage area\u2014and make sure you check out recent editions and blog entries here at the \u201cSportsTalk Shop\u201d to see more of our local girls and boys athletes\u2019 awards and standout performances.<\/p>\n
