One of the guests on our last \u201cSportsTalk\u201d program was MLBPipeline.com<\/a> Senior Writer Jim Callis<\/a>, who does an amazing job analyzing both high school and college baseball athletes all over the country.\u00a0 Each year Jim and his colleagues preview hundreds of prospects\u2014many stories accompanied by video highlights of the player\u2014from all corners of the country\u2014and beyond.<\/p>\n

Previewing the MLB Draft is incredibly more complex than the NFL <\/a>and NBA <\/a>Drafts, with practically every potential football and basketball draftee having all their games now broadcast on television or internet outlets.\u00a0 We\u2019re fortunate to have someone like Jim on our program, with the depth of knowledge about potential baseball prospects for the professional baseball franchises in the RCN-TV viewing area and beyond.\u00a0 Be sure to check out the entire interview on RCN On-Demand or on our weekly podcast for insights on all the top-tier prospects.<\/p>\n

In the same way, on this Thursday\u2019s show we\u2019ll have Eric Longenhage<\/a>n from \u201cFanGraphs<\/a>\u201d to recap this year\u2019s MLB Draft, with insights on the selections made by the Phillies<\/a>, Nationals<\/a>, Mets<\/a>, Yankees <\/a>and other teams in the RCN viewing area.\u00a0\u00a0 We\u2019ll also have a discussion on the use of analytics in baseball\u2014something that \u201cFanGraphs\u201d has excelled in providing to baseball players, coaches, front office personnel and fans alike.

\nAfter a spring that saw some wild weather issues (the same season that included a record low and a record high temperature within two weeks), we will officially enter the summer season and, with it, conclude our spring sports coverage in the RCN-TV viewing area.<\/p>\n

Additionally, there were equally wild games that we covered\u2014both with our full-productions and on our weekly features on the \u201cSportsTalk\u201d programs.\u00a0\u00a0 Our spring sports broadcast coverage included the District XI 6A baseball championship game, the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference baseball semifinals and final, the McDonald\u2019s Football All-Star contest and Grandview Speedway auto racing.<\/p>\n
